This exquisite Italianate-style antebellum home, once the center of a 1,500-acre plantation, is a reminder of the Old South’s prosperity. It hosted both the Union and Confederate armies during the Civil War. In the summer, guests can participate in daily activities commonplace in the 1860s, such as churning butter, dipping candles, writing with quill pens and washing clothes. It lies two blocks west of Evergreen Cemetery.
